Bright Rain IX-Operation Freedom

D.A.R.C

This event has already passed by. Sorry.

Event Description

Setting:  City of Kakhovka, Southern Ukraine

Putin has stepped up activity to try to regain control of the Ukraine.  Russian backed foreign fighters have started violent separatist uprisings in cities across the East and South, trying to agitate for a reunion with Russia by taking strategic cities.  The latest outbreak is in the key city Kakhovka, close to the Black Sea.  If the Russians can gain this city, it is likely they can put a logistical stranglehold on all of Ukraine.

The paramilitary units have been successfully opposed by the Ukrainian military.  To turn the tide, the Russians have brought in highly mobile light infantry.  The Ukranian government, unable to deal with this influx, has requested emergency help from NATO.  The US has responded.

Publicly, the US cannot state they have "boots on the ground".  However, unofficially they have sent in expeditionary forces to cooperate with the Ukrainian military.  The US troops are arriving by plane to an airport close to Kakhovka, right as the fighting is getting under way.

Bright Rain is held at a privately owned military training facility in North Little Rock, AR. known as D.A.R.C. (Direct Action Resource Center).  This facility trains all branches of the military including SF as well as local law enforcement.  The training facility has a large, stand alone covered shoot house, a mock village with multiple structures including another large covered shoot house, a transport helicopter on a 25' tower, a DC 9 fuselage as well as well as Huey helicopter chassis, cars and buses spread around the AO with large dirt berms around parts of the AO for great tactical engagements.

This year thanks to Arkansas Mobile Airsoft, we will have structures in strategic places that were previously open.
